Innovation & technology development

Kenro does not only distribute technologies — we create them. Our innovation and development division runs R&D projects in areas that hold real significance for the future of energy, climate, and indoor environments.

Every project is built on three principles: engineering discipline, scientific foundations, and a clear market objective.

R&D areas

What we are working on

Thermal systems and thermally driven cooling

We research and develop solutions in absorption and adsorption cooling that use heat — including waste heat — as an energy source for refrigeration processes. This is a technology that changes the energy equation: instead of consuming electricity for cooling, we convert heat into cold. We work on concepts applicable to air conditioning, industrial refrigeration, and cold-chain logistics.

Autonomous and efficient refrigeration systems

We design refrigeration system concepts that minimize energy consumption and increase operational independence. Our approach combines thermal engineering with automation and energy optimization — working toward solutions that perform more efficiently, last longer, and leave a smaller environmental footprint.

Cold-chain solutions

The cold chain is an area where energy efficiency, reliability, and scalability directly impact the safety of food, pharmaceuticals, and thermally sensitive materials. Kenro analyzes and develops concepts that can improve the efficiency and resilience of cold-chain systems — from storage to transport.

Healthy lighting and future technologies

Through our cooperation with the EV SUN brand, we are entering the field of healthy lighting — technologies that influence the wellbeing, productivity, and health of people in indoor spaces. This is a direction that aligns with growing regulatory requirements and market expectations for building environment quality.

Engineering projects

We run engineering projects that combine scientific knowledge with practical implementation. Each project passes through clearly defined stages: from analysis, through concept and prototype, to market validation. We collaborate with universities, industrial partners, and experts to ensure our solutions are both scientifically grounded and commercially viable.

Methodology

Our approach

We do not publish roadmaps full of promises. We work on real projects in real technology areas. Our innovation pipeline is built on discipline: every project must have scientific justification, market potential, and a path to commercialization. What does not meet these criteria does not enter the portfolio.
